Commitment...

I have spoken to so many clients’ friends and family this year about their commitment issues. No, I’m not a marriage counsellor; I’m a certified Nutrition and Wellness specialist. The commitment is to better health, happiness, stress relief and food. Some of us are committed to chocolate and refuse to break up with that relationship, and others it is lays chips and beer.

I sat in a session this summer with Tosca Reno, (the EAT CLEAN DIET guru, and amazing 53 year old fitness personality who covers Oxygen magazine...) and she read my company shirt that says, “its okay to cry.” We sparked a conversation about asking ourselves if we are ready to look at ourselves and make a change.

I have counselled many a client since then, and challenged them to not just “say I’m going to do it...” but DO IT. I also CHALLENGED them to put it out there. Be accountable to what you are saying you are going to do. Run 10km in 6 months? Tell people you are!!!

A person that eats clean generally practices the following:

  • Eliminates refined sugar
  • Cooks healthy meals
  • Packs healthy meals
  • Makes healthy choices when dining out
  • Drinks a lot of water
  • Eats 5-6 small meals per day
  • Eliminates alcoholic beverages (or significantly limits it)
  • Always eats breakfast.

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT? Whatever “IT” is...

If it has a momma, or was picked from the ground, and not poured out of a can, it’s typically better for you. Is that BIG NEWS? No...so why do we load ourselves so full of preservatives and junk. You are what you eat...

So... (Big breath...) I will be on the cover of my website wearing a bathing suit December 1st, 2012.

Yours in Health,
GI JANE
